Yesterday my mom, sister, and I went to the local Piedmont Triad Farmer's Market since the weather was perfect and we were finally all in town! Since I moved to Greensboro, this has always been a favorite place of ours during the Spring & Summer months! Usually, we like to head over to the market every weekend or every other weekend but after a couple summers of studying and the crazy rain we had the first half of this summer, this was only our second trip this summer! We had so much fun and here are some fun pictures from our day at the market!
I love coming here and perusing all of the plants and happy vendors
tomato heaven!
did you know there were this many types of eggplants?~
beautiful peppers
I got my tomato plants from this vendor in the spring! They are amazing people and have such a great selection!
Beautiful pepper plants
I am a HUGE fan of the man who runs Carolina Corn Roasters truck and he remembers me and my family every time we are at the market! He always gives us an extra/well done roasted corn to-go for free since we visit his truck all the time!
After all the roasted corn with cayenne pepper, my mom needed something to cool her down- what else than our other favorite: Hawaiian Shaved Ice!
quick stop for some North Carolina peaches!
I chose some homemade peach and mango ice cream
I got a stevia plant! The guy who runs the NC Herbal Treasures stall mentioned that you could just put a leaf of it in your coffee and would be just the same as the stevia I get in packets!
I love this place! Can't wait to go back!
Do you frequent a local farmers market where you live?
I always drove past this place going to Blacksburg but never stopped. They have quite the selection!
ReplyDeleteAhhh it's the best!! Ever since I moved here (and even before), we would always be there every weekend! They have special events too throughout the year- Strawberry Day/Festival, this past Friday was Watermelon Day, Saturday they had an antique car show. They have a fun Christmas bazar too- so much fun!!!
